Large-format quarterly Mousse gives a platform to international criticism of contemporary culture, commissioning essays and artwork each issue.
This special Summer 2026 edition celebrates 20 years of Mousse, bringing together extracts from past issues of the magazine, coupled with additions from Mousse Publishing whose shelves house a plethora of titles including books, monographs, and exhibition catalogues. Their editorial frames this commemorative issue as: ‘An undertaking suspended between the desire to give order to our many worlds and our inevitable failure at it. More than a retrospective or an archive, this is an attempt to move through a living body of work’.
That body of work includes work from a variety of artists and photographers including Andy Warhol, Peter Hujar, Nobuyoshi Araki, Elad Lassry, Suzanne Lacy, Barry Flanagan, Isa Genzken, and Tom Wesselmann. Elsewhere, an excerpt from Eyal Weizman’s essay ‘Walking Through Walls’, poetry from Henri Michaux, and conversations featuring the likes of James Lovelock, Ulrich Obrist, Liam Gillick, Lawrence Weiner, Mathias Poledna.
The issue incudes a glossy poster insert featuring ‘The Queen of the Tulips’, by artist Karen Kilimnik.
