“S(O)L magazine is a lifestyle publication that extracts “morning rituals” from everyday life and reinterprets them from new perspectives, with the aim of loosening the mind and body from routine repetition. The theme of Issue 1 is “Breakfast”. All photographs were taken with a film camera during early morning hours. While living in Japan, we visited the homes of people whose cultural backgrounds are not widely known in Japan. Alongside recipes, the magazine traces personal stories that emerged through interviews. From Sweden and Colombia to Peru and South Africa, the project captures unique food cultures discovered through each shoot. We understand breakfast as everything up to the final bite — from shopping to empty plates.”
